Cherry Grove Vineyard - Gaston, Oregon
Cherry Grove Vineyard is located in the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range in the Willamette Valley AVA, on south facing slopes overlooking Patton Valley and the upper Willamette river.
The 20 acre vineyard ranges from an elevation of 250' to 550' on mostly Willakenzie and Melbourne soils and is surrounded and protected by 30 acres of mature douglas firs. Cherry Grove Vineyard receives annual rainfall of approximately 30” and provides a 2000 to 2400 heating degree day growing season.
We were lucky to find the Cherry Grove Vineyard by Stirling Fox of Stirling Wine Grapes, the well known and highly accomplished Willamette Valley vineyard manager, who consults and manages Cherry Grove. We source all of our super elegant clone 777 Pinot Noir that makes up the majority of Division Pinot Noir "Un" from the Cherry Grove Vineyard, including .5 acres from block 2W and .35 acres from Block 5, both of which we share with well known Oregon wineries.
The vineyard has been LIVE (Low Input Sustainable Viticulture) certified since 2007. Wines produced from Cherry Grove Vineyard fruit have been on numerous top 10 and best buy lists, and consistently score from 88 to 93 in national and international ratings.
The vineyard has been owned by Bob, Irene and Mary Van Steenberg since its inception.
